My Veterans Place Podcast
Most Veterans and Military Families want to know who or where to go for resources they may need. Some may need information on Health & Education Benefits, Homelessness Assistance, Behavioral Health & Wellness, and Financial Literacy. Some may want to know Military friendly businesses that offer discounts. But not all Veterans or families have the time or patience to sit down and search through hundreds of organizations and businesses to find the right one to help. Join My Veterans Place as we interview organizations and business owners that serve Veterans and Military families locally and across the nation. We will bring awareness of the great work that is done through many organizations small and large. We will hear from Veterans around the nation that will share their journey. It's our mission to assist the military community with relevant information that will make a positive difference in their life.

Today, we’re having Guy Talk, with Mr. Chris Hartley, who is an Army Veteran, and Mr. Emmett Prescott, Jr. an Active-Duty Army Soldier, Mr. Eddie Patterson, Jr. an Army Veteran, and Mr. Emmett Prescott, Sr. an Army Veteran. According to Military Dot Com, even when we are not at war, military families often deal with stresses such as frequent moves or the absence of a parent. Deployment to war creates additional issues for a family to handle.
Families face several challenges before, during, and after deployment. This emotional cycle of deployment begins when news of deployment is released to the family. It starts with a short period of strong emotions, such as fear and anger. As departure grows closer, a period of detachment and withdrawal may occur. This can happen to prepare for the person being physically gone. Today we’re going to have a conversation with some men that have deployed from home. We will hear their thoughts and feelings about deployment before and after returning home.
